Storyboarding

From watching videos on how to create a perfect storyboard for my animation for instance, there are a few rules that I picked up that need to be considered:
  • 180 degree rule - keep everything in one direction
  • Have to have meaning behind each shot
  • Identify with the character - so he matters
  • Angles and comparison - how to show it?
  • Upshots - show ceiling (or something that uses the background)
  • Downshots - showing the floor to represent
  • Establishing the shot - beginning of the scene to orient the audience
  • Give the eye something to follow
  • Cut in closer when you need to see a specific expression
  • Cut to the most important thing at the time
  • See the change in expression - 2 poses
  • Avoid centring characters
  • Use easily recognisable objects
